Actually the client message 14/06/2009 8:21:08 p.m. GPUGRID Message from server: CUDA app exists for Full-atom molecular dynamics but no CUDA work requestedsays it all. Your BOINC Client doesn't request CUDA work but CPU work from GPUGRID. Better would be to use 6.5.0 or 6.4.5 (which is BTW still the recommended version for GPUGRID) instead of 6.6.31. ____________ pixelicious.at - my little photoblog

Have you tried 6.4.5 or 6.5.0?

The "not requesting work" is a notorious problem of the 6.6.x series clients, that's why I'm still recommending 6.5.0 (see e.g. here). It's related to the long term debts getting "out of whack" and the solution proposed by the Devs is to use a cc_config.xml file with an option like "reset debts" or so. Either use the search of ask again, I'm sure someone could give you the details. have you had any expeirence with ATI cards ? i have read lots of posts , some say no way, but other have solutions? have 4870x2 on another computer. And what's your question? GPU-Grid doesn't work on ATI, currently only folding@home (non-BOINC) and Milkyway (unofficial) do. MrS ____________ Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002

Yes I tried running with 6.631 but it got out of whach again. presently running 6.5 sofar so good 4 cores doing World commuity Grid and 2 GPUs doing 2 GPUGRIDs every 8.5 hrs

Glad it works as expected now! is it simply the No of cores? on a GPU that account for the time taken or the speed of the card/s or the computer ? Not sure what "it" is, but if you mean the speed of processing GPU-Grid tasks: it's mainly determined by the number of shader processors times their frequency, as well as architecture (G9x vs GT200) and gpu core clock speed. Of some influence are driver version and gpu memory speed. Of minor influence are cpu speed and number and PCIe speed (within sane limits). I notice some results on other computers have very short crunch times Example? I.e. how short is "very short" for you? will the new drivers as of yesterday make any diffence? That depends entirely on your application, but probably not. MrS ____________ Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002
