I was thinking about if GPUGRID.net might see prospects for OPEN Hardware predictive research. Everything from PCB layouts to Chip designs, even running simulations of how different PCB layouts of total PC systems might effect space utilisation within the PC case & what that would mean for the airflow inside the casing.

Not me, but doesn't GPUGRID like attracting possible new sponsors???

They probably do, but have you seen much sign that they're having much success attracting any that will even pay enough to cover this year's remaining unfunded costs? The donations thread doesn't seem to mention the additional costs required for any new sponsor to get enough additional GPUGRID staff to handle adding any new type of work not directed at medical research, without first giving up handling medical research.

Want to try finding companies whose sales would benefit from GPUGRID's work, and try persuading them to become new sponsors even if it means paying for a significant increase in GPUGRID staff and hardware, without being told in advance just how much they would have to pay?
