Having power supply issues on my main PC used for GPUGrid - have already ordered new one - will be here Tuesday (03/03/19) this week - will have pc back up that day if all goes well. Getting bad AC to DC ripple. PC automatically shuts down. Still have my wife's computer running the GPUGrid so will still have something running if this fails. Very slim chance it's a regulator on the motherboard or a drive pulling it down but don't think so. Supply is the cheapest part right now anyway. keep your fingers crossed for me. Thanks - will report back after power supply in and tested.

Well all looks good so far . Almost in for a week now and no further issues. So GPUGrid finally sent me 2 files to do. I was Persona non-Gratia at first and could not get a file to work on. But all seems OK now. Will be going up in work as of today.

So are you still crunching? What type of rig are you using now?

Actually - It's a home built. I put it together myself. A Asus Motherboard with a I5 Intel Processor, a EVGA power supply , 850 Watts. A EVGA NVidia GTX 1070 Graphics board . I have 2, 2 Terabyte Hard drives with a 240 Gigabyte Electronic SSD Drive. And a few other sundry parts to make it a fully functional computer.

I was a Computer Field Tech and In house tech for 25 years. So I've only every owned one purchased computer. A Asus that is now my wife's computer that was mine for a 3 or 4 years. That is a I5 Intel also but only has a Evga GTX 660 Ti Graphics card in it. I have one more of the GTX 660 but the motherboard only has one slot so the 660 is a spare at this point. I had them both in this computer in SLI mode that was almost as fast (some game speed were 60 FPS this one is 70 most of the time ) as this GTX 1070 Graphics card by itself. So that's why my numbers are higher, the fact that I have two computers crunching. The GTX 660 card will probably stop being used on GPUgrid before too much more time passes. They stop using cards when they get old technology. Anyway , hope all is well with you.

Good to know info. I built all my own computers for over 30 years. My latest I had custom built because I could not build it cheaper myself for the first time in all that 30 years lol. Recently in the past year I changed up the Vid Card to a NVIDIA 1080Ti. Crunches pretty good :) .

Operating System Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU AMD FX-937047 °C Vishera 32nm Technology
RAM 32.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz (11-11-11-28)
Motherboard ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 (Socket 942)37 °C
Graphics 3071MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti (Gigabyte)62 °C
